Block Watch - Car Break In

Early this morning between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. two cars were burglarized. One car entry was gained by smashing a window, the other was unlocked. Both cars had items stolen. The time frame has been confirmed as another neighbor was wakened by the dog. This neighbor did look outside but did not see anything. Unable to go back to sleep, this neighbor subsequently heard car doors slam and a vehicle take off from the side of their house. This neighbor ran to the window and caught a brief glimpse of what may have been a light colored , late model Chrysler 300, 4 door sedan.

Later this evening it has been reported that the thieves were caught in Lacey, WA., in a motel room. Apparently they had taken a cell phone from one of the cars. The police have contacted the owner of the phone and provided a number to call if your car was burglarized. There were more than 2 cars prowled, although some residents didn't know they had been hit. According to the Lacey police, this group would target unlocked cars, and would only break in when they saw something they really wanted. If you have lost electronics in the past 24 hours, and think they may have been stolen from your unlocked car early this morning, you may call the Lacey Police @ 360-239-0192 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Remember to remove valuables from your vehicle. Stay alert to what is going on in our neighborhood and call 911 immediately if you see or hear anything suspicious. They are responding very quickly. Then call a neighbor or the Homeowners Association President
