Bear Sighting

A bear was sighted on Lake Holm Road yesterday afternoon. It was at the first turn as you start down the windy hill. How wonderful that we live in an area that allows nature to be so close to our door step. However, let us all take some some basic precautions and stay alert.

Suspicious Activity - Solicitation

This afternoon about 4:30 p.m., a woman was canvassing the neighborhood for TriState Roofing and Seattle's Best Home Improvements. She was observed standing for several minutes looking at houses and taking notes, then having conversations on her cell phone. She was approached and asked if she needed any help, but said she was soliciting business for roofs and siding. She was told that this was a "no solicitation" neighborhood and that there was a sign stating that at the front entrance. She said she did not come through the front entrance. When asked what entrance she came through, she became defensive. She did not drive here, but was dropped off and picked up in a white van. Later a check of the neighborhood revealed that very few flyers had been left.

This may have been a legitimate solicitation effort. But it is strongly urged that we all are extra vigilant for the next couple of weeks. Lock your car doors and do not leave valuables in view in your vehicles overnight. Pick up your mail. Keep an eye out in the neighborhood and report any suspicious activity (call 911) immediately, then report to your Block Watch person.
